VT360.com and Netscape 4.7

 

Problem:

When I open a page containing Java,  three error dialog boxes appear.  The first two contain the following text:

# Error: The certificate issuer for this server is not recognized by Netscape. The security certificate may or may not be valid... Netscape refuses to connect to this server

After clicking OK in that window, the page loads but Java will not work at all; it seems to be disabled.

The second time the OK button is clicked, the following error appears:

Java reported the following error on startup:

java.lang.SecurityException: system classes were not signed

Solution

1.Close NS browser

2.On local drive, go to:  C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users

3. open user profile folder

4. Rename > cert7.db to cert7.old

5. Rename key3.db to key3.old

(note, if unable to rename, you'll need to reboot computer first)

6. Start Netscape browser 4.7

This should fix all java applet viewing issues with VT360.com

If you are still having difficulties, go to

C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users

open up user folder

check the properties on cert7.db and key 3.db

Make sure that Read only is NOT checked
Make sure that Archive is checked.
